WARNING SPOILERS
Hello romance fans,
This week we are mourning the loss of our beloved character Beth Greene from The Walking dead series. All the rumours have finally become reality: Beth dies in the end of episode 5X8 "Coda", leaving us breathless.
What can we say about this? We are speechless. How can the creators of TWD kill a character that has evolved so much in this season? Emily Kinney said in an interview that she was not prepared for this. Maybe in season 2 or 3 but not now that there was a lot to explore overcoat about her relationship with Daryl.
We know that in this series death is around the corner but why at this moment? Just when our expected bethyl reunion was so near. They could have let them to be together some time at least to explore their mutual feelings. On the contrary, the didn't even share a glance, nor a single word at their short reunion. Even worse, she hugs Noah instead, with whom she had shared what...a few days? To make things worse she dies instantly so they let us without a simple farewell word betweem them.
A single shot and everything Beth was, everything she had become, disappeared. All of us knew that she was strong, she did not have to show us. And yes, it's very beautiful to see a tearful Daryl carrying her at the end but she is dead after all. It's late.
We are really very sad. Sad because Norman and Emily had a lot of chemistry on screen. Bethyl had potential to have been one of the best love stories of the small screen. They made us feel with only words and glances what others fail with kisses and sex. Emily Kinney is a great actress and her character was a breath of fresh air within this desolated world. We will never forget you Beth.
As you know our blog is focused on romance so as bethyl has gone we will stop talking about The Walking dead for now and we will focus on other relationships.
